    Accenture and DataStax have signed an alliance agreement, formalizing their longstanding collaboration in helping clients manage and drive insights from big data seamlessly and rapidly across the enterprise. The two companies will continue to work closely providing clients with real-time, open source-based big data capabilities that enable businesses to detect and prevent fraud and create more personalized interactions online. The alliance combines Accenture's deep industry expertise, analytics skills, cloud capabilities, and focus on driving analytics-driven outcomes, provided through Accenture Analytics, with DataStax's enterprise-ready big data platform built on Apache Cassandra.

  • Red Hat and Hortonworks Unveil Hadoop Big Data Collaboration

    Red Hat and Hortonworks have unveiled integrated products aimed at speeding up enterprise big-data Apache Hadoop projects. Having collaborated directly and through the community for the past 12 months, the two open-source software companies have now cemented links with three initiatives. The two firms unveiled the beta of Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) combined with Red Hat Storage, which is designed to give companies a unified storage pool for all Hadoop workloads and which supports multiple interfaces, files and objects.

The deal will see the two companies partner to create additional value for merchants who are looking to make the most of the big data that is generated by each transaction. Loop is a big data analytics and loyalty platform that enables both banks and merchants to analyse transactional data, using it to create compelling relevant and timely offers that can be sent to customers through a mobile app or multiple touch points in real time.
